Educational Law is a set of rules, principles, laws, and regulations that deal with the relationships between students, teachers, administrators, specialists, and technicians, while involved, mediately or immediately, in the teaching-learning process in public and private educational institutions.
About the Centre
In this context, our Education Sector works to guide these relationships in the educational environment, in order to ensure that educational institutions comply with the legislation in force, defend their interests, and prevent potential conflicts.
The Technical Educational Center is located in the Maranhão branch, with nationwide operations, and has highly qualified professionals who provide advisory, consulting, and litigation services.
Activities
- Expertise in specialized litigation and in volume claims involving civil liability and obligations pertaining to consumer relations (Law n. 8.078/90 – Consumer Defense Code);
- Acting in litigation and consultancy in the administrative sphere – PROCON, MPE, DPE, DPU, DPCA and Professional Councils;
- Follow up on inspections;
- Review of educational and service provider contracts;
- Credit recovery for overdue tuition fees;
- Discussions under Law no. 9.394/96 (Law of Directives and Bases) and Law no. 9.870/99 (School Tuition Law);
- Issues involving the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA);
- Preparation and review of contracts with the main suppliers related to the educational institutions;
- Conflicts involving the regulation of federal programs such as ProUni and FIES (Higher Education Institutions);
- Advisory services, consulting, and preparation of legal opinions on specific issues related to the educational sector of interest to schools and educational systems.
